Melissa is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist who specializes in working with child, adolescent, and adult survivors of complex and childhood trauma, including sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect.
"In my 10+ years of working with youth, adults, and families in Tucson, I have had the honor of walking alongside trauma survivors of all ages as they reclaim their lives and reconnect with their authenticity. My clients have taught me about humility, strength, joy, and courage. I believe it is a privilege to be a part of your journey and will gratefully receive feedback to make sure our relationship is a healing experience in your life."
Ulysses' Place for Children and Families, PLLC is named after Melissa's dog, Ulysses, who was training to become a therapy dog when he developed an aggressive cancer and, ultimately, passed away. Ulysses was a Mastiff mix who often caused passersby to do a double-take, thinking Melissa was walking a tiger! Despite his large size and 'bull-in-a-china-shop' tendencies, Ulysses was unfailingly kind, sweet, accepting, and loving, and if you sat on the ground, he would inevitably wind up sitting in your lap! He loved people, especially children, and was always up for an adventure. Ulysses' Place for Children and Families strives to embody those qualities and keep Ulysses' loving heart alive!
